Present

So today I got my first present from Tyler. He was running around the house naked after his bath and I was checking the caller id to see who called when he ran up to me and handed me a turd. At first, I didn't know what it was and when I looked down at what he handed me, it was a turd. With a corn kernel in it. I thought it might be the dog's turd but when I picked Tyler up to wash his hands, after I flushed the turd and washed my own hands first of course, I found my shirt smeared with poop from his butt. Yup. My son just pooped and handed it to me like it was a present. I thought I might write this down because it was such a monumental moment. :) Oh and before I could catch him, he had laid down and smeared his poopy butt on the dog's pillow. Just made my night.

New School

So Tyler started his new school today because we didn't like his old school anymore due to management issues. It was such a tough decision but I think we made the right one. He gets so upset when Rob leaves his there, it is so sad. I hope he gets used to it soon....

Plus, today is the first day both Rob and I are back at work after 2 weeks of having our house full of family and both of us are a little depressed... We need to move closer to family!

Snow

We got about 2 feet of snow! Amazing! Rob and my dad had to shovel snow. I tried to help but I think I slowed them down. Tyler didn’t like it too much. I think the cold felt too much like pain.

We did manage to venture out to Toys’ R Us and my dad bought Tyler practically everything that he touched. So we have a ton of stuff now and I have a feeling his favorite thing to play with is still toilet paper. Who knows, maybe he will grow out of it!

I love the way he loves to play Chase me if you can! He “runs” and looks back to see if you are chasing him and then he “runs” some more. It is the cutest thing.

Bye Bye

So this morning, in bed, Tyler sat up and looked at up and waved "Bye Bye" while saying it. It was the cutest thing ever. Then, when I went to leave for work, I waved "Bye Bye" to him and blew him a kiss and guess what? He did the exact same thing! I am beginning to think my boy is a total genius!

Sumo Wrestler Style

So Aunt Traci called to tell us that Tyler walks like a Sumo Wrestler. Now I just cannot seem to get the image out of my head! Thanks Aunt Traci!

Red Indian Yell

I love it when I put my hand over Tyler's mouth and repeatedly hit it, he yells to create a Red Indian Yell. It is the funniest thing ever!

He is getting so aware now it is amazing. The other day I was reading to him and I told him the duck was a duck. Amazingly, he replied "Duck" to me. Of course, I know he doesn't know what he is talking about but I just thought it was funny.

It seems every little thing he does now is awesome. He picked up his book and walked it over to Daddy and stood there while Daddy read to him. Oh and then he tried to eat the book. Funny…

Official First Step!

So Tyler had just gotten done with his bath and we were playing in our bedroom when he just stood up and walked towards his book. It was amazing and so cute. He had a pirate one legged wobble to it and his arms were outstretched. Of course we had to make him do it over and over again so we could get it on film....

First Step! Sort of....

So today, Tyler took his first step for our babysitter just as we were about to go out to dinner and a movie! We were so excited and jealous because we had been working on it with him for so long and he took a step for HER!!!! Then, come to find out, he has been doing it at school for a while now! ERGH!!!! See what happens when you are not with your child 24/7?? You miss the important milestones! I hope he does it for us one day soon and we can capture it on video because as I see it, it never really happened until we see it!

New Stuff

So Tyler is learning so much so fast it is so amazing… I can hardly believe he is turning one so soon. Last night, he helped me empty out his bottom drawer full of blankets. He pulled them out one by one and threw them on the floor all the while saying “Ace, Ace, Ace”.

He is also learning that he can balance and he tries to do this pretty often. Sometimes in the tub, which makes me very nervous. He keeps trying to balance while standing without holding onto anything and sometimes, he’ll be standing there and realize he is not holding onto anything and he will start to flay his hands around until he catches something to hold.

Today Rob thinks Tyler waved “Bye Bye” to him at daycare. I wish I could have been there….

At school they said that he does the sign language for “more” and “all done”. We’ve been teaching him “milk” for a while now and I cannot wait to see him do it firsthand!

Mountains

So we went to the mountains on Halloween weekend with Tyler. Rob rented a cabin in the middle of no where and when we drove up that Friday night, it was so eerie….. when we finally found the house, we were relieved because it was so new and beautiful and well stocked!

We all had so much fun! Tyler loved the leaves so much and he also loved holding Max’s toy hostage. Every time Max would give him his toy to throw, Tyler would hold it and taunt him with it and when Max tried to swat it from him, he laughed and laughed. It was the cutest thing ever. We also had a hot tub outside the house and it was so peaceful to sit there and look at the stars and the moon (after baby went to bed of course). Everything is so much brighter in the middle of no where. It was the perfect getaway….
