This is Tyler! He is about 30 weeks old and 3.5lbs. Right now, I have gestational diabetes so they will probably want to monitor him closely to make sure that he does not get too big. Boy was it traumatic finding out that I had GD! I have to prick myself 4 times a day to test my glucose level and I have to take 2 shots of insulin everyday to keep my glucose level down. It is strange but baby seems to grow and move the most during the night! I hope that is no indication of how he will be when he comes out! I cannot wait to meet the little guy and of course to have him out! :) Only 10 more weeks left! Maybe less!
OMG! It was so exciting today to find out the sex of our baby! It was such a mix and a rush of emotion because both Rob & I thought it was going to be a girl! When the tech told us that it was a boy and pointed out the little penis, it was so funny! We were both shocked and very happy..... Of course, I cried! Haha! Now, we have to find a baby boy name and boy is that hard!!! Oh well, here are the baby pics.... The first one is a profile shot of the head and the second is a cute little shot of the pee pee!
So.... As soon as my morning sickness, ok, ALL DAY sickness, went away, a new pregnancy symptom popped up! Pregnancy Rhinitis! it just means that you cannot breathe out of your nose, and your nose keeps running! Lovely huh! Oh well, last night was one of the worst nights ever! I couldn't breathe and I had the worst indigestion from Indian food! It was bad.....
I looked down at my tummy and said: "You better be worth it!" I really meant it! Today I can breathe but my nose still runs.... It's ok tho. I would rather have a runny nose than not be able to breathe. I couldn't even taste my food last night and with each bite, I had to breathe out of my mouth! It was not a pretty sight!
I hope I get better soon! I really want to enjoy this pregnancy!
So here is the picture of our baby at 13 weeks and 1 day old! We had just gone through the NT test. I wasn't nervous but Rob sure was! It is a test to make sure that the baby does not have Down Syndrome. Baby is fine.. :)
It was so funny to watch the baby move, turn, and kick! Sooo AMAZING!!!
Rob and I have been calling it Peanut... We cannot seem to agree on a Boy name... Oh well, hopefully we will agree on one if we get a boy....
We find out the sex of the baby Sept 2nd! I cannot wait!!! It is all so exciting! :)
So when they say you have weird pregnancy dreams, they were not kidding! Here are some of the ones I remember having....
One of the scariest ones is the one where I go to the bathroom and find so much blood! I called my cousin in my dream and she said: " Oh don't worry about it! It's alright!". Funny thing is when I had the pregnancy scare, she rushed me immediately to the hospital!
Here is another really vivid dream. I found out that Rob had died on a plane! I balled up onto the floor and cried while saying that Rob wouldn't even get to see his unborn child! My mother then told me that it would be OK since she already found me 3 government jobs! I starting hitting a man who in my dream was my dad, but he looked nothing like my dad. As I was pounding on his chest, I cried and yelled that I knew that life couldn't be perfect! I woke up crying and immediately called Rob. It seemed so real that when I heard his voice, I started balling even more!
My last dream is the weirdest. I dreamt that I lost my luggage in a cement landmine. I needed it to pack my things so the people working there had to scan all the cement as it flowed down for my luggage! WEIRD!!!
So I am back at Starbucks to finish out my last 3 weeks here. When I arrived, the team had gotten me breakfast, flowers in a beautiful vase and a really lovely card! It's nice to be thought of.... I told some people in the office about the pregnancy today and I think I might tell everyone today since tomorrow will be my last day here in the NY office. It's so much fun telling people.....
So yesterday I had a huge pregnancy scare! I discovered some blood when I went to the bathroom! I called my cousin and my friend and everyone took me to the doctor immediately for a checkup. It turned out that I had a threatened miscarriage. I did hear the baby's heart beat for the first time and I teared up. It was a pretty emotional day! In the morning, I got molested by an old man in the public swimming pool! He dared to squeeze my butt! I told the lifeguard and he helped me get a hold of him and I confronted him in front of everyone. I scolded him like a schoolboy and he called me crazy! It was very dramatic! I am actually really glad I confronted him. I warned him never to do it to anyone else again, all the while, pointing and shaking my finger at him! It was pretty funny! Everyone stared at him so hard....
So I did the 3rd blood test and my HCG levels came back normal so I can stop worrying about that now! YAY! I am in Singapore now and I am trying not to eat myself into oblivion. It is hard to do but I am hoping with some self control and daily exercise, I can be a little healthier! The clothes I bought a week ago that were a size up and were soooo loose on me are now snug! I am really upset! Now I have to go out and buy some stretchy pants! I hope I can find some here in the land of the tiny! We will see!
The flight was kinda quick and I slept pretty good. I was so afraid of blood clots that I walked around quite a bit. I have to admit thought that I did sleep most of the time! Sleep and eat! Exactly like wat I will be doing here in Singapore for 3 whole weeks!!!! I am going to be a COW!!!!
So... I went to get blood again for my second test and again I had to get poked twice! My arms are so bruised! I look like I am using! Even the nurse said that, and she's the one who did it! Oh well... this is the life of girl with tiny veins....
SO I hear tomorrow at 1PM if my levels have doubled. If they did, then its a go. Otherwise, I have to do an ultrasound. Wish me luck!
So I went to see the doctor today and they poked me twice to get blood. First time, they filled a tube of blood and pulled out the needle. Then they had to poke me on the other arm because she forgot to test for my blood type! Oh Lord!
They want to make sure I am pregnant. I guess it's not official until I find out tomorrow at 2PM. I cannot wait! After that, they do another blood test in a couple of days to see if my levels are rising appropriately. If they are, it's an indication of a good pregnancy. I think that's really unnerving... Lots of thoughts running thru my head but I am trying not to think about any of it...
I feel that the 1st trimester is probably the scariest becoz you don't know if your pregnancy is going to take... Then of course the last trimester is probably the most uncomfortable because you are as big as a house... I am hoping the 2nd trimester comes soon so I can at least relax for 3 months!
The doctor thinks she can send me for my first ultra sound before I leave for Singapore! That is so exciting! Our very first picture of our very first baby!
So many things to look forward to....
So... I found out yesterday that I am pregnant!!! Got up at 5AM and I had to pee so bad so I pee'd on a stick 3 days before I was supposed to get my period thinking that it would be false but my groggy eyes slowly became large with shock! Rob & I have been planning this since forever but to actually see the word "Pregnant" on the stick was still an immense shock! It didn't feel real! I kept looking at it expecting it to change back and I even checked the box to see what a negative result would look like. Of course, since it was a digital pregnancy test, a false read would be a "Not Pregnant". Why I even bothered to check the box is beyond me. I am chalking it up to my sleepy state and nothing else!
This feeling of joy and fear washed over me... I was so excited and happy but I was scared at the same time... I wanted to wake Rob up but I knew he had studied late into the night and needed his sleep. I tried going back to sleep but of course I couldn't.... So I woke up and decided to research some pregnancy books on amazon!
Finally, Rob woke up at 7AM. He groggily walked out of the bedroom and immediately went into the bathroom. Right before he stepped in, I yelled: "I'm Pregnant!". It seemed so unreal until that moment. He of course was in shock... Zombie like, he walked towards me and gave me a huge hug. I have to admit, my eyes welled up. It was a moment I won't soon forget. Then, he told me that he really had to pee! That was funny....
When I called the doctor and told them, they said to come in for a blood test. When I went in, they poked my veins for like 5 min and couldn't get blood. Then, another nurse was called in who actually noticed that I hadn't missed a period yet. She sent me home and told me to come back next Thursday. Boy, I hate incompetent people! I can't wait to make it official and see the doctor! I'd really like to see her before I got to Singapore May 30th.......
